Microsoft hat im Rahmen des heutigen Patchday für Oktober 2017 ein Sicherheitsupdate für Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 und Windows Server 2012 R2 veröffentlicht. Das Sicherheitsupdate KB4041693 enthält Verbesserungen und Korrekturen, die Teil des Updates KB4038774 waren und umfasst Sicherheitsupdates für Windows Suchkomponente, Windows Kernel-Modus-Treiber, Microsoft Grafikkomponente, Internet Explorer, Windows Kernel, Wireless Networking, Windows Storage und Dateisysteme, Windows DNS, Windows Server, JET Database Engine und den Windows SMB Server. Zudem wurde auch ein Problem, bei dem USBHUB. SYS zufällig eine Speicherbeschädigung verursacht, die zu zufälligen Systemabstürzen führt, die extrem schwer zu diagnostizieren sind, behoben. Das Update umfasst weitere Verbesserungen und Qualitätsverbesserungen, die sich weiter unten einsehen lassen. This security update includes improvements and fixes that were a part of update KB4038774 (released September 19, 2017) and resolves the following issues:

  • Addressed issue that occurs in the WebView Control of Internet Explorer in certain scenarios.

  • Addressed issue caused by a pop-up window in Internet Explorer.

  • Addressed issue where messages that should be in a non-English language display in English in Internet Explorer.
  • Addressed issue where USBHUB.SYS randomly causes memory corruption that results in random system crashes that are extremely difficult to diagnose.
