Microsoft hat im Laufe des Abends im Teil 1 des Patchday für März 2017 die Verfügbarkeit von nicht sicherheitsrelevanten Updates für Microsoft Office bekannt gegeben. Bei allen Updates handelt es sich um optionale Updates, sie müssen also nicht unbedingt installiert werden, auch wenn die Installation empfohlen wird. Die Updates stellen die neuesten Fixes für Microsoft Office bereit, außerdem verbessern sie die Stabilität und Leistung der Software. Die Updates wurden am Dienstag, den 07. März 2017 veröffentlicht, betreffen Office 2016, PowerPoint 2016, Access 2016, Project 2016, Publisher 2016, Visio 2016 und OneDrive für Business sowie Office 2013, Project 2013, Visio 2013 und OneDrive für Business und können ab sofort über Microsoft Update geladen werden. Alle Updates aus dem Download Center sind nur für die MSI-basierte Edition von Office bestimmt. Bei Click-to-Run-Editionen wie Office 365 Home werden die Updates automatisch installiert.
