Microsoft hat im Laufe der Woche ein größeres Update mit der Versions-Nummer 2112 für die Microsoft 365 Desktop-Apps wie Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook und Co. veröffentlicht. Die neue Version umfasst Featureupdates für Word, Outlook und PowerPoint sowie Bug Fixes: In Word kannst du jetzt bei der Zusammenarbeit nur deine eigenen Änderungen verfolgen, ohne diese Einstellung anderen aufzuzwingen. Wenn die Verbindung während der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen unterbrochen wird, aktualisiert Word dein Dokument ab sofort automatisch mit den neuesten Änderungen. In Outlook wurde die Kalendersuche verbessert. Die größte davon ist die Möglichkeit, das nächste Vorkommen einer Serie in den Suchergebnissen leichter zu finden. Office Apps unterstützen jetzt das OpenDocument-Format 1.3. Dies brachte viele Verbesserungen des OpenDocument-Formats und diese werden jetzt in Word, Excel und PowerPoint unterstützt (Dateierweiterungen .odt, .ods und .odp). Mit diesem Update wurden auch Fehler behoben, die in früheren Versionen von Excel, Outlook, Access und in der Office Suite gefunden wurden. Dazu kommen auch die üblichen Bug Fixes und Verbesserungen, um die Office Apps zuverlässiger zu machen.

Wenn neue Office 365-Funktionen verfügbar werden, nimmt das Rollout an alle Abonnenten manchmal etwas Zeit im Anspruch. Bei ihrer Veröffentlichung werden diese Updates zuerst an einen kleinen Prozentsatz von Benutzern gesendet. Weitere Benutzer werden dann im Laufe der Zeit hinzugefügt, bis alle Office-Abonnenten ihre Updates erhalten haben. Das Update lässt sich allerdings auch manuell anstoßen. Das Update mit der Versions-Nummer 2112 setzt ein PC mit Windows 10 voraus und kann ab sofort geladen werden. Um das Update für Office 365 manuell anzustoßen, starte Word und erstelle ein neues Dokument -> Gehe zu Datei -> Konto -> Wähle unter Produktinformationen -> Office-Updates -> Updateoptionen -> Jetzt aktualisieren aus. - Track just your changes in your documents: Sometimes when you’re collaborating, you only want your own changes to be tracked, without forcing this setting on others. To track only your changes, go to Review tab, select Track changes, and choose Just Mine. See details in blog post.
- Get back to work faster when collaborating: When you get disconnected while collaborating with others, Word will automatically refresh your document with the latest changes.

- We fixed an issue that would prevent multiple users from opening a database on a network file share.
- We fixed an issue that caused an application to close unexpectedly when connection to an Access or Jet database using multiple threads.
- This change fixes an issue that may cause an application that used the OLEDB API to open an Access database (.accdb file) to close unexpectedly if the database contains links to SharePoint lists.
- This change enables full support of requirement set 1.11 and 1.9 for Outlook add-ins.
- We fixed an issue where an application using the OLEDB API with the ACE.OLEDB.12.0 or ACE.OLEDB.16.0 provider was closing unexpectedly.
- We fixed an issue that caused users to see garbled text in some fields when exporting contacts to a CSV.
- We fixed an issue where the teaching callouts (tips) about the new look of Office did not appear in Outlook. Now, users of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote are notified about the changes to the new look of Office, which includes information about what changed and how to change settings, or toggle off the experience.
- We fixed a reliability issue related to refreshing elements that may contain text.
- We fixed an issue selecting text via double-tap when using the touchpad.
- We fixed an issue related to text anchoring in SVG rendering.
