Google hat nun damit begonnen, die hier angekündigte und neu überarbeitete Version 9.0 der Google Maps für Android für den gleichnamigen Kartendienst an Nutzer von Smartphones und Tablets mit Android 4.1 und neuer zu verteilen. Mit der neuen Version erhält die Google Maps App das Materialdesign mit dynamische Grafiken, flüssige Bewegung und taktile Oberflächen und nicht näher genannte Fehlerkorrekturen. Nutzer, die die Uber App auf ihrem Smartphone installiert haben und dessen Dienst auch Nutzen, können sich mit der neuen Google Maps die geschätzte Wartezeit und Kosten für eine Uber-Fahrgelegenheit ansehen. Zu guter Letzt hat die Google Maps App ein komplett erneuertes Logo, genauso wie die Google Maps für iOS, erhalten. Das Update mit der Versions-Nummer 9.0 erfordert ein Smartphone oder Tablet mit Android 4.1 und neuer und kann ab jetzt im Google Play geladen werden, andernfalls erhältst du eine Benachrichtigung, sobald es für dich und dein Gerät verfügbar ist. Travelers deciding whether they should take an Uber or brave the frosty winds can now see estimates for Uber’s pickup time and price for their route in walking and transit directions in Google Maps. This option will appear if you have the Uber app installed, where available.
